Ingredients
Cake 

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup  butter
  • egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded apple

Caramel sauce

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 12 oz can evaporated milk
  • 1 Tbs vanilla
  • nutmeg

Whipped Cream

 

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 6 TBs powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbs vanilla
Preheat oven to 350

Combine sugar and softened butter until smooth, add egg.  Mix dry ingredients together and add to sugar mixture. Add shredded apples.  pour into a greased 9x13 pan. bake for 35-45 minutes, until a knife inserted comes out dry.

Caramel sauce

combined all ingredients in a sauce pan stirring constantly bring to a simmer and lower heat to medium cook for 10-13 minutes. add a dash of nutmeg to taste.

whipped cream whip ingredients until light and fluffy.

serve cake warm with caramel and cream.
